who we are

In 1930 Fish Hoek was a holiday village, primitive, sparsely populated with sand hills predominating. The train line went to Simonstown. The Outspan was just that, a place to outspan carts. The club was established in 1931.

The Fish Hoek Bowling Club is affiliated to Western Province and SA Bowls.

In 2017, the club merged with the False Bay Croquet Club and now offers bowls and croquet.

Thank you to Christine for 'Getting the ball rolling' and https://www.facebook.com/groups/capeofdiab for vintage pics.

In the past few years, events have included raising funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA); the Care Company, which delivers home-based care for the elderly across the Western Cape; the Nomads Bowling Club for the underprivileged; and hosting a bowls day for the Western Province Blind Bowlers' Association.

The club also serves as the headquarters for the Fish Hoek Lions Club; hosts a Bible-study group every Thursday morning; and a senior exercise group on Monday mornings;

We not only participate in competitive bowls in the Western Cape but, social functions including our favourite Friday evening Twilight bowls, are popular within the community. An open invite to enjoy a game of bowls and a bring-n-braai.
